Athlete of the Month: Roy Silver
Ok, let get this out of the way. Roy is a "Roadie" by nature, meaning he came to Triathletix as a very competent and fast road cyclist. His big goal was to be able to run off the bike and use his cycling ability to turn him into an accomplished multisport athlete.
At first, the road to "Uber" triathlete was met with injuries, personal and professional setbacks, but in the end Roy was able to rack up some pretty impressive results.
Roy's first big goal was to podium at the Strawberry Fields Tri. But in order to do that, he would have to make his running reach a whole new level! Adding tempo runs and weekly track workouts to his routine, Roy was able to clock in a 41 minute 10k and finished 3rd in his age group.
Next was the hilly and very competitive LA Triathlon. Through all the mayhem, Roy was able to run an impressive 44 minute 10K and finish 10th in his age group of over 150 athletes.
Maybe, one day Roy will call himself a triathlete and not a Roadie!
